I am Sister Lisa Marie. When I was 15, I first started to think about religious life as a possible vocation. The Knights of Columbus helped me start searching for a Congregation. It wasn't until I was 27 that I began to be more serious about it. I lived alone and so I was able to pray without any distractions. That's when I realized my vocation of religious life. I chose this order because of their community life, living with healthy and handicapped Sisters. They are very fraternal and always thinking of others first. I was also attracted by the spirit of the Congregation, "Lamb of God, meek and humble of heart", for an "Ever Greater Love", and I was attracted by their prayer life. They have no specific apostolate, so we use the talents we have, considering the needs of those around us. I feel that God has chosen me to be in this Congregation. I am peaceful and happy with God calling me to the "Sisters of the Lamb of God.
Whow! I am very excited about my new assignment; I will be moving to our mission in Jaurez Mexico the first week of Sept. These last months I have been studying Spanish, and feel somewhat confident that I will be able to communicate at least basically in the beginning. My others in the community prayed that I would receive the gift of a spanish tongue for Pentecost.
GOD HAS GRACED ME TO BE HIS SPOUSE FOR LIFE: MY FINAL PROFESSION AS A SISTER OF THE LAMB OF GOD!!!
On July 21, 2007, I professed my final vows at the Church of the Immaculate in Owensboro KY. It was a joyous day for my family as well as myself and my congregation as we gathered to celebrate in Thanksgiving for my vocation. "I am the servant of the Lord, Send me where you will." This was the inscription on my cake at the reception. The mass was truly intercultural as our order is present in America, France, Africa and Mexico. Songs, were in all three languages--english, french, and spanish. The offeratory was led by two Sisters from Nigeria in the manner of the people of that country. As our founder said, "Let us go out throughout the world to spread the Good News."
