On February 2, 1945, in Brest, France, Father de la Chevasnerie, S.J., founded the Congregation.
In 1958, the first American mission was opened in Owensboro Kentucky. We started with three French sisters and three American sisters. What an adventure! There were cultural and language differences and a lot of learning. Love unites all.

Our first assignment from Bishop Cotton was to prove to be a blessing. We were asked to take census in several parishes. This offered us the opportunity to become familiar with the needs of the people and God gave us the light and means to know how to best serve in this diocese. Census in those days was taken by going from door to door. Imagine all the wonderful experiences one has when meeting people this way!
We discovered the need of a Catholic Kindergarten in the dioceses there were none at that time. So we established one which ran until 1981. By that time most parishes offered Kindergarten classes for their little ones.

On July 4, 1967, the Congregation was approved by Rome as a diocesan religious congregation.
March 11, 1968: death of the founder.
1969 saw the beginning of a mission in Cameroon, Africa.
Keeping with our founder's wish to "Go out to all the world and spread the news" of the Gospel, of the spirit of the Lamb of God, meek and humble of heart, we began a mission in Juarez, Mexico in 1998.
Spirituality
Father de la Chevasnerie gradually discovered in the Paschal Mystery the center on a very strong spirituality. He used the symbol of the Lamb of God to make this spirituality more real for him.
Through Baptism and through religious consecration, we are members of the body of Christ, who continues to live His mystery of death and resurrection in us.
